HOUSTON (February 7, 2013)—AAA-Texas reported Thursday that the average price per gallon at the pump in the state jumped 14 cents this week to $3.38.

Nationwide gasoline prices also rose, increasing 13 cents to hit $3.55 per gallon.

The association says Dallas and Fort Worth have the most expensive gasoline statewide at $3.41 per gallon while drivers in El Paso have the cheapest gasoline at $3.14 per gallon.

Experts cite higher crude oil prices and production concerns as reasons for the hike in retail gasoline prices.

Refineries are preparing to make the conversation to summer-blend gasoline.
