DENVER (January 22, 2013)--Dish Network says it plans to close about 300 of its Blockbuster stores across the country.

The closings mean that about 3,000 employees will lose their jobs.

A company spokesman says the employees were informed about the latest closures on Friday.

The locations of the stores to be closed were not announced.
