LOS ANGELES (August 6, 2014) Adriana’s Insurance in Southern California settled a lawsuit by delivering a partial payment of thousands of dollars in loose change.
Attorney Antonio Gallo says the company dumped 17 buckets of quarters, nickels, dimes and pennies in his office last week as partial payment.
He estimates the buckets contained more than $20,000 worth of coins, although he hasn't counted them.
In fact, he can’t even lift the pile.
Neither can his client, Andres Carrasco, 76, of Los Angeles, who just had a hernia operation.
Carrasco sued in 2012, claiming an insurance agent assaulted him by physically removing him from an office.
Gallo said Adriana's sent a check last week and also left cash.
Carrasco told KNBC-TV he's disappointed by the company's treatment.
Adrian's didn't immediately comment but promised to release a statement soon.
