Mother’s Day Meant Long Hours For Florists

SAN FRANCISCO (May 11, 2013)—Flower and candy shops stayed busy with last-minute customers picking up something for their moms this Mother’s Day weekend.

At Fillmore Florist, in San Francisco, workers were busy over the past two days filling orders for flowers.

Shop owner Fred Tabar said it's the second-busiest occasion, topped only by Valentine's Day.

He says most customers prefer pinks and purples when it comes to flowers for their mothers, and most don't even ask about the price until after they've selected the arrangements they like.
