TOKYO (October 10, 2012)--Toyota Motor Corp. is recalling 7.43 million vehicles worldwide to fix a faulty power-window switch.
The recall involves more than a dozen models produced from 2005 through 2010.
Toyota said grease wasn’t applied evenly during production to the power-window switch on the driver's side, causing friction in the switch and sometimes smoke.
No crashes or injuries were reported related to the problem.
In North America, Toyota is recalling the Yaris, Corolla, Matrix, Camry, RAV4, Highlander, Tundra, Sequoia and Scion models xB and xD.
Other models also are being recalled in Japan and Europe.
