BAYTOWN (April 3, 2013)--Borusan Mannesmann, a Turkish company, plans to build a $148 million steel pipe-making plant near Houston.
The plant in Baytown should create about 250 jobs, Gov. Rick Perry said.
Borusan Mannesmann will receive $1.6 million from the Texas Enterprise Fund in support of the project, Perry said.
Borusan Mannesmann says the unit will cater to the energy sector.
Company officials have said the plant should be completed and in production by 2014.
