NASHVILLE, Tenn. (October 5, 2012)-- The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers is awarding four-time Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, composer and actor Lyle Lovett its Creative Voice Award by.

ASCAP President Paul Williams says Lovett is "a musical hero in more ways than one" and is being recognized for his artistry as well as his work advocating on behalf of fellow musicians and his work with lawmakers to protect copyrights.

The award will be presented at the 50th Annual ASCAP Country Music Awards on Oct. 29 in Nashville, Tenn.
