LOS ANGELES (January 28, 2013)--Actor Taye Diggs chased down and captured a man he found rummaging through his garage, Los Angeles police said.

The incident happened after the "Private Practice" star and his wife returned to their Studio City home from the Screen Actors Guild Awards, where Diggs was a presenter.

LAPD spokesman Richard French said shortly before 11:30 p.m. Sunday, Diggs spotted a man in his garage, evidently looking for items to steal.

French says the man ran off, but Diggs followed him down the street and held him for police.

Neither man was hurt.

Hassan Juma, 20, was arrested and remained jailed Monday in lieu of $50,000 bond.
