NEW YORK (August 29, 2013)—Belton High School graduate George Eads, 46, is taking a leave of absence from his role as forensic scientist Nick Stokes on the CBS series “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” the network said.
Eads will appear in the first three episodes during the upcoming season.
Eads has portrayed Stokes since the series premiere in 2000, but it’s unclear when or if he'll return.
CBS wouldn’t comment on a Hollywood Reporter story that says Eads got into an argument with a writer on the show about his character.
Eads was born in Fort Worth, but grew up in Belton.
His father, Arthur “Cappy” Eads, served as Bell County District Attorney from 1976 to 2000.
"CSI" was the 20th most popular show on TV last week, watched by 5.8 million people.
