NEW YORK (December 22, 2013) Beyonce says even though she worked hard on her new album, she had her doubts minutes before its surprise release, wondering if people were going to hate it.
She needn't have worried, it turns out.
The singer's fifth album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts after it was released without the public knowing about it in advance.
"Beyonce" sold 617,000 units in the U.S. in a week and the album has sold more than 1 million copies worldwide.
The album includes 14 songs and 17 videos.
Beyonce held a screening for the videos Saturday at the School of Visual Arts in New York.
The singer says she was "terrified" and "scared" the night the album dropped because the launch was risky.
