LAS VEGAS (August 30, 2013)—Martyn Ravenhill, the British businessman who bought Liberace's 15,000-square-foot mansion in Las Vegas, says he plans to restore it to its former glory.
Ravenhill told The Associated Press Friday he's been a huge Liberace fan all his life as well as a lover of Las Vegas.
He said he learned the mansion was up for sale after finding a video about it on YouTube.
He paid $500,000 for it, $29,000 less than is list price and about $3 million less than it sold for seven years ago.
He says the mansion is a piece of American history that needs to be protected.
