CW Cancels Reality Series

LOS ANGELES (July 3, 2014) “Famous in 12,” a reality TV series intended to make a family famous, has been canceled because viewers weren't willing to play along, the CW network said.

The network canceled "Famous in 12," well shy of its planned three-month run.

Executive producer Harvey Levin, of TMZ fame, told family members on Tuesday's episode that not enough people were watching to keep the show going.

It debuted June 3.

The Artiaga family of Beaumont, California, was chosen for "Famous in 12" based on a video they submitted, one of 10,000 entries.

Levin had called the series a "social experiment" to test the boundaries of building an empire on limited to no talent.
