Christian Concert To Offer Hope, Healing After Newtown Massacre

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (January 15, 2013)--Christian singer Steven Curtis Chapman says the accident that killed his daughter Maria in 2008 helps him understand the anguish of the parents who lost children in the deadly school shooting rampage last month in Newtown, Conn.

Chapman and his family will share the stage Tuesday night in Bridgeport, Conn., with Christian singers Toby Mac, Chris Tomlin, Laura Story, Mandisa, Casting Crowns and Building 429 for what's billed as "A Night of Hope and Healing."

Ten thousand free tickets were handed out for the event at which the Rev. Louie Giglio and the Rev. Max Lucado will lead worship.

Chapman says after his little girl was run over in the driveway of the family's home, the only thing worse than the pain they went through would have been to go through it without God.

He said that's the comfort he hopes to share at the concert.
