NEW YORK (May 3, 2012)--Rosanne Cash’s new song "Land of Dreams" can be heard on a series of ads that debuted this week.
Tourism in the U.S. has declined so much in the last ten years that for the first time ever, the USA is marketing itself as a tourist destination.
Brand USA, a partnership of government agencies and private companies, hopes to lure back international visitors whose numbers have dropped in large part due to complicated visa procedures and heightened security that followed the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Cash composed the song specifically for the campaign and appears in some of the commercials.
