Date Set For Kardashian Divorce Trial

LOS ANGELES (February 15, 2013)--Kim Kardashian's divorce trial should begin in early May, a judge said Friday.

Kardashian had urged the judge to set the trial so her marriage to Kris Humphries could end before July, when her child with Kanye West is due.

Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon set a May 6 trial date on Friday over the objections of an attorney for her estranged husband, an NBA player.

Humphries' lawyer sought more time to find evidence that might prove claims the marriage should be annulled because it was fraudulent, but two judges determined Friday that he has had plenty of time to prepare.

Gordon also said Humphries' status as a pro basketball player didn't entitle him to a delay until his playing season ends.
