LOS ANGELES (February 1, 2013)--Dave Grohl says making the film "Sound City" was "more like a keg party with a camera than actually making a Hollywood movie."
''Sound City" is about a studio outside Los Angeles where Nirvana, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, REO Speedwagon, Guns N' Roses and Cheap Trick all recorded.
Grohl said people think he made an anti-technology film, but said that's not true.
"The intention was to inspire people to fall in love with the human element and the human process of making music,” he said.
''Sound City" hits theaters in limited release Friday.
