FBI Releases Files On Whitney Houston

LOS ANGELES (March 5, 2013)--The FBI has released its file into some investigations it did on behalf of Whitney Houston, but it contains no bombshells.

The 128-page file on the singer who died last year has details of three investigations related to Houston.

One had to do with an alleged extortion attempt back in 1992.

The report is heavily edited to remove specific names and places and in the end, agents and prosecutors determined no crime had occurred.

The FBI also looked into fan mail that was flagged and sent to the agency because of possible threats.

Those investigations found there were no criminal threats to the singer.

Houston drowned in a hotel bathtub on the eve of the 2012 Grammy Awards.
