Film Project Focuses On Stories Behind Tsunami Debris

Print

JUNEAU, Alaska (March 8, 2013)--Filmmakers are working to find and tell the stories behind some of the items that have washed ashore since the deadly tsunami in 2011 in Japan.

Co-director John Choi says "Lost and Found" aims to reunite items discovered by people who feel compelled to learn more about them, and return them to their owners.

A trailer for the film shows two men affected by the items they've found; a volleyball that washed up on a beach in Washington State, and part of a boat found during an expedition that sailed from Japan to Hawaii.

Neither of the items has been linked to its original owner yet.

Work on the film continues. Choi hopes it will be released in time for the third anniversary of the disaster next March.
