MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (September 7, 2013)—Richard Rosendale has competed in the culinary Olympics and produced countless gourmet dishes at southern West Virginia's world-class resort, The Greenbrier, but he says he faces his greatest challenges on the set of "Recipe Rehab," a CBS Saturday morning show that debuts on Sept. 28.
In the show, families submit favorite high-calorie recipes, and two chefs compete to crank out healthier, lower-calorie versions of them.
Rosendale resigned from The Greenbrier in June and will compete in 11 episodes against California chef Vikki Krinsky.
He's a native of Uniontown, Pa., and worked in Pittsburgh before opening a restaurant in Columbus, Ohio.
Rosendale also is a father of two in a state struggling with an obesity epidemic.
He says it's important to be part of a show that's not only entertaining, but has an important message about healthy eating.
