“Idol” Ratings Drop

NEW YORK (May 20, 2013)--The "American Idol" finale used to be considered "must see" TV, but apparently not so much anymore.

Last week's finale produced the lowest audience ever for the 12-year-old show.

Nielsen says 14.3 million viewers watched as Candace Glover claimed the title, a third less than the audience for last year's finale.

And in an even worse sign for the show's future, there was a 44 percent drop among young adult viewers for last week's finale.
