Iggy Pop, New Order, Patti Smith Jam For Tibet

NEW YORK (March 12, 2014) Fans watching Iggy Pop and members of New Order were so eager they jumped out of their seats at Carnegie Hall and ran to the front of the stage to see the rock stars perform.

Pop joined Bernard Sumner, Phil Cunningham and Tom Chapman onstage Tuesday during the 24th Annual Benefit Concert for Tibet House U.S., a nonprofit organization that preserves Tibetan culture.

During "Transmission" and "Love Will Tear Us Apart," fans, mostly older, but including some teenagers, rushed from their seats to get closer to the stage.

Patti Smith closed the two-hour-plus concert in New York City with Pop, New Order, the National and others with "People Have the Power."

Smith also paid tribute to Lou Reed by singing "Perfect Day."
