ATLANTA (April 29, 2013)---Pinewood Shepperton PLC, the British film studio that’s home to the James Bond franchise and other major movie productions, has announced plans for its first U.S. movie production facility.
Studio CEO Ivan Dunleavy made the announcement Monday, saying the "agreement is another step forward for the Pinewood brand internationally."
The large-scale film complex, Pinewood Atlanta, will be on a 288-acre site south of Atlanta and will include at least five soundstages as well as production offices.
Recent films shot at Pinewood Studios, outside of London, include the upcoming Angelina Jolie film, "Maleficent."
Pinewood earlier this month announced a joint venture agreement with one of China's leading private media groups.
