LOS ANGELES (October 19, 2012)--Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel released a statement Friday to People magazine saying they married in Italy.

The statement said the ceremony was beautiful and it was special to be surrounded by family and friends.

Meredith O'Sullivan Wasson, a spokeswoman for Biel, confirmed the report.

Timberlake, 31, and Biel, 30 were wed in southern Italy.

They got engaged in December after dating for several years.

Timberlake, who has been acting more than singing lately, stars in the Clint Eastwood baseball film, "The Trouble with the Curve."

Biel stars in the remake of "Total Recall" and can next be seen in "Hitchcock."
