DURHAM, N.C. (August 7, 2012)--Hud Mellencamp, son of rocker John Mellencamp, started practice this week with the Duke Blue Devils.
He was home-schooled and never played high school football, but he is an accomplished boxer.
Coach David Cutcliffe described Mellencamp as "a pretty courageous man" who wanted to try something new.
He said he'll try to shield Mellencamp from the media and take things slow, because Mellencamp has so little football experience.
