HAMILTON, N.Y. (November 14, 2012)--Jon Bon Jovi's 19-year-old daughter was hospitalized Wednesday after she overdosed on heroin in a dorm at her upstate New York college, authorities said.

Town of Kirkland police say an ambulance was sent to Hamilton College early Wednesday morning after a report that a female had overdosed.

Investigator Peter Cania said Stephanie Bongiovi, of Red Bank, N.J., is recovering at a hospital he declined to name.

Police say Bongiovi and Ian Grant, 21, also of Red Bank, were charged with drug possession.

Both were issued tickets and ordered to appear in court at a later date.

The musician's representative wasn’t commenting.

Bon Jovi is scheduled to perform on Dec. 5 at a benefit concert for Hamilton in Times Square.
