NEW YORK (March 27, 2013)--Justin Timberlake’s new album, “The 20/20 Experience,” sold 968,000 copies in its first week, Nielsen SoundScan says.
By comparison, Matchbox 20 got their first number-one album in September when "North" sold 95,000 copies.
In the past 12 years, 19 albums have sold more than 900,000 in a single week, and Timberlake has had a hand in three of them.
Besides "The 20/20 Experience," 'N Sync's "No Strings Attached" sold 2.4 million in 2000 and "Celebrity" sold 1.9 million in 2001.
