LONDON (February 19, 2013)—Tony Sheridan, who used The Beatles as his backing band before anyone knew who The Beatles were, has died at 72,. UK's Telegraph newspaper reported.
Details weren’t released, but Sheridan had heart surgery last year.
The Beatles met Sheridan while they played clubs in Hamburg.
Sheridan recruited the band to back him up at a Hamburg club.
They were credited as "The Beat Brothers" on Sheridan's recordings of "My Bonnie" and "When The Saints Go Marching In."
