WEST HOLLYWOOD, California (June 26, 2012)--Mary J. Blige says there's a softer side of her personality that most people don't get to see.

She says she has a fun, happy and carefree style that doesn't usually come through her music and she got to show off some of that side in her work in the movie "Rock of Ages."

Blige says while she's known for her work in hip-hop, she grew up liking rock music, too.

One of her favorites, she says, was Pat Benatar, because Benatar was featured a lot on MTV when she was watching that channel.
