LAFAYETTE, La. (February 14, 2014) Musicians from Haiti, Sierra Leone, Greece, Mississippi, Texas and across Louisiana, are among more than 100 acts scheduled to perform at the Festival International de Louisiane in April in Lafayette, La.
Dick Dale, called "King of the Surf Guitar," will perform at a concert April 21 to support the free festival, which runs from April 23 to April 27.
Headliners include Zachary Richard; Geno Delafosse & French Rockin' Boogie; Suroit, from Quebec's Magdalen Islands; Tinariwin from Mali; Radio Radio from Quebec; Bombino, from Niger; and Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars.
BélO, from Haiti; Imam Baildi, from Greece; and Los Angeles-based Moroccan musician Hassan Hakmoun are among other international performers.
Hard Proof Afrobeat and Gina Chavez are among those from Texas.
Rosco Bandana is coming from Gulfport, Miss.
