NEW YORK (August 14, 2012)--NBC continued to score ratings gold on the final night of the London Olympics.
The Nielsen Co. said NBC won every night last week by a wide margin.
An average of one-quarter of all televisions in use in prime time were tuned to NBC.
And on Sunday the closing ceremony coverage was the week's most-watched show with 31 million viewers.
The Olympics even lifted NBC to second place for the broadcast year in both total viewers and adults 18 to 49.
With Brian Williams anchoring from London, NBC's "Nightly News" continued to enjoy an Olympics boost of its own, averaging nearly 10 million viewers.
ABC was second with 6.8 million, followed by the "CBS Evening News" with 5.4 million viewers.
