Neil Young, Foo Fighters, Black Keys Plan Charity Performance

NASHVILLE (August 8, 2012)--Neil Young and Crazy Horse, The Foo Fighters and The Black Keys will play a concert in New York for which fans can’t buy tickets, but instead will have to earn their way in.

A lottery system will be used to give away 54,000 tickets for The Global Festival 2012 on Sept. 29 in New York’s Central Park.

Fans can enter the lottery by earning points online for charitable acts to wipe out poverty ranging from sharing information on social media to signing a petition to making donations.

Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney says they try not to get too political, but this is a humanitarian issue rather than a political one.
