LOS ANGELES (January 1, 2013)--The online voting system for Oscar nominees isn't exactly getting boffo reviews so the Motion Picture Academy extended the deadline for members to vote on their favorite films of the year.
This year, the Oscar people gave voters the option to cast their votes online or through the mail, but some of those who tried it the high-tech way say they ran into problems and worried that their votes wouldn't make it through.
The new deadline is Friday and the nominations are to be announced on Jan. 10.
The Academy Awards ceremony itself is set for Feb. 24.
