SEOUL, South Korea (December 6, 2012)--Psy is making a pile of money from "Gangnam Style," but not in his native South Korea.
"Gangnam Style" has been downloaded 2.7 million times in the U.S., which translates to as much as $2.4 million for Psy and his people.
How much he makes depends on his deals with management and agents, but in South Korea, music fans pay less than $10 a month for a music subscription that allows hundreds of downloads.
That means before divvying it up with management and agents, Psy makes a fraction of a penny per song, for a total of about $61,000.
He’s made about $870,000 from YouTube views.
