Sandy Concert Offers Respite, Relief

TOMS RIVER, N.J. (December 13, 2012)--The "12.12.12" concert to raise money for Superstorm Sandy relief may be in New York, but it was a big deal on the hard-hit New Jersey shore.

A movie theater in Toms River and dozens of others in areas affected by the storm simulcast Wednesday's show for free for storm victims.

Some of those who attended said they still can't get into their homes.

Others in dry areas used their homes as shelters for friends.

Brick Township resident Joe Montagna said he's grateful to see musicians give something back and Toms River resident Jerry Frasco said he's in awe of the lineup, which included The Who, the Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen.

He said he just wishes his community didn't have to go through a storm to get it.

The storm caused about 100 deaths in New York and New Jersey.
