Texas Rapper Indicted After Central Texas Traffic Stop

CORSICANA (May 24, 2013)--Platinum-selling rapper Lil' Flip of Houston has been indicted on a possession of a controlled substance charge stemming from a traffic stop in 2012 in Navarro County.

Navarro County District Attorney R. Lowell Thompson said Friday that the artist whose real name is Wesley Eric Weston possessed codeine that was discovered during the Oct. 18, 2012 traffic stop on Interstate 45.

The Corsicana Daily Sun reported that a man who was with Weston, Dematrius Delane Richardson of Arlington, was indicted Thursday on the same count.

More than 400 grams of codeine was discovered during the stop.

Lil' Flip is known for his singles "Sunshine," ''Game Over," ''I Can Do Dat" and "Rollin on 20's" from the "2 Fast 2 Furious" soundtrack.
