LAS VEGAS (October 23, 2013)--Authorities in Nevada were trying Wednesday to find out why a yacht owned by singer Wayne Newton sank at a marina on Lake Mead.
A spokeswoman for the National Park Service said the 65-foot vessel went down stern-first in about 45 feet of water.
At the time the boat was in a slip at the Temple Bar marina, on the Arizona side of the Colorado River reservoir.
No one was aboard and no one was hurt.
Newton's sister-in-law confirmed that the boat belonged to the Las Vegas entertainer, but said Newton and his wife were vacationing out of the country when the boat sank Friday.
