NEW YORK (October 3, 2012)—Rumors are swirling about the future of the Foo Fighters and Dave Grohl says in a statement, "I'm not sure when the Foo Fighters are going to play again."

Grohl said the band is his life and his family and his world, but "it's a good thing for all of us to go away for a while."

He said that's why they survive.

But he says it's not time for "gold watches or vacations just yet."

Grohl will use his time away from the band to complete his "Sound City" documentary, about a southern California studio.
