Zombies, Bible, Both Pulled In Big Easter Sunday Audiences

NEW YORK (April 3, 2013)--Slightly more people watched "The Walking Dead" than Jesus rising from the dead in the concluding episodes of "The Bible" on Easter Sunday, ratings show.

The Nielsen ratings show that AMC's program about zombies attracted 12.42 million viewers compared to the 11.75 million who watched the last two hours of "The Bible" on the History Channel, which means the two most watched shows on Easter were on cable rather than broadcast TV.

Actress Roma Downey, who co-produced the ten-hour Bible series with her husband, says the DVD went on sale Monday for the many people who were interested but don't have cable TV.

"The Bible" had well more than ten million viewers each of the five Sunday nights it was on the History Channel.
