HOUSTON (October 5, 2012)--Actress Daryl Hannah was arrested along with a 78-year-old northeast Texas landowner while protesting construction of a pipeline intended to bring crude oil from Canada to Gulf Coast refineries.

Her attorney, Paul Bassis, said Hannah was arrested Thursday evening.

Bassis said Hannah and landowner Eleanor Fairchild were standing in front of heavy equipment brought onto the woman's property in Winnsboro.

Bassis says the two women were taken to the Wood County Jail.

Hannah has starred in dozens of movies, including "Kill Bill" and "Splash."

She also was arrested in August 2011 while protesting the Keystone XL pipeline in Washington.

TransCanada has condemned several acres of Fairchild’s farm.

She says she opposes TransCanada's plan to transport heavy tar-sands crude from Canada to the Gulf Coast.
