Fight Breaks Out At Local High School Basketball Game Save Email Print

(February 1, 2008)—One person was pepper sprayed and several citations were issued after a fight that broke out between students in the stands and expanded to include adults at the Chilton School gym during the Chilton-Bremond basketball game.

The gym was packed when the fight broke out around 8 p.m. Friday, one officer told News Ten.

The Falls County deputies who were providing security for the game called for backup and other deputies rushed to the school

Officers used pepper spray to subdue on person and several people were citied for disorderly conduct.

No serious injuries were reported.

Referees called the game before it ended because of the fight.

There was no immediate word on whether it would be rescheduled.

By the way, did you know that typing in all caps means you are screaming? Sounds like you are the one that's angry. I went to Midway, wait, let me scream it to you MIDWAY. I don't recall anyone acting that way either which I guess proves both of our points. THANKS FOR THE HELP MRS. REED. Listen, no one is asking anybody to be able to conjugate a verb or distinguish a gerund from a participle but it would be nice if the least educated among us didn't feel the need to be the most vocal. If someone wants to be stupid, be stupid! Just don't subject me to it.

"MRS REED" I stand corrected. You have a right to freedom of speech just like you have a right to be an idiot. If you want to defend these slack-jawed, mouth-breathing oxygen thieves then I guess you also have a right to do that. Anyway, fighting in a high school gym is stupid and it sounds like you are leaning that way also. I think it's a shame when we can't spell the language we speak. Have a nice day "MRS REED". Marlin? Chilton? Bremond? Here's and idea, run a spell check on your comment before submitting it or at least have someone who made it past the 3rd grade type it for you. Not only have you made a fool of yourself by fighting in a high school gym but you also took a baseball bat to the English language while commenting about it. If this isn't a public announcement of stupidity I don't know what is. I always like to see people make a fool of themselves. Thanks for the laughs! Morons!

Well excuse me Mr.MzCp4LIfe but last year at the game in Bremond it was Ex students if u didnt know. Yeah i was there and it was stupid, just as was Friday night. The only reason Students that hadnt graduated jumped in was because it was probably their family. and last year at the game some people from chilton were egging it on. now due to UIL realignments we dont play chilton anymore. and personally im happy. im not saying bremond people are all good and im not saying all chilton people are bad. im saying none of these fights should have happened and people who werent there shouldnt say anything cuz they dont know what happened!!

MzCp4LIfe.It does not matter what "stuff" they go through.This type of behavor is not right and you know it. If I resorted to fighting just because some one said something bad about me ,I would be in jail most of my life. It just shows the immature side of adults . There are several schools functions where something like this happens through out the year, It is childish. WHEN WILL THESE PEOPLE GROW UP? Its not so bad already with raising our kids now we have to fear for their safety at a school function? I hope the system throws the book at the ones involved.When a student gets in a fight they are sent to special schools . There needs to be something done to stop this send the ones involved to their special place too.

To anonymous first of all i apologize for the misunderstanding below cause you're right no one from bremond had anything to do with the fight i dont know what jim is talking about but do not sit here and act like chilton people always start with yall because as i recall a year ago after chilton n bremond game in bremond, chilton fans walked outside and got ambushed and somebody swung at someone who was holding my child and my baby ends up on the ground luckily i was at work because just say i'll be doing a life sentence right now so dont put it out like we have been bullying yall its just a rivalry gone bad they need to separte us form playing each other period,because im more than sure it will always be some kind of confrantation.

Let me clear this up the people that were involved ages range from 18-23 there were'nt any older adults involve only young young adults there parents were trying to stop the fight ,so dont be putting anyones parents down..thank you

The game was completed at 10:30 Saturday and Bremond won 58-55 on a buzzer beating 3-pointer.

The fact that chilton has the nerve to call Bremond trash is beyond belief. First of all it wasnt Bremond we have the decency to wait till after the game to start anything. Bremond has been pushed around for years by Chilton, and get blamed for everything. We arent bad student. No Bremond students were involved, in this ruckus. but does it really matter were still the underdogs so we are still going to get blamed.

The fight was between ex-marlin students and ex-bremond students. Former Bremond students were involved contrary to earlier statements. This is the third incident in 3 years involving trash from bremond and trash from marlin.

way to go parents.......thats really teaching our kids about sportsmanship.....then when your child gets in trouble at school because of their attituide you want to blame everyone but you !

The fight was in the hallways outside the gym area. It was between Chilton and Marlin students/ex-students. There were several punches thrown by up to four men. Bremond and Chilton school officials assisted three deputies in breaking up the fight. The fans remained calm and in the gym. After the initial scuffle two more young men came in hollering. They were immediately placed in handcuffs by deputies. No fans or team members were injured. Officials met with both coaches and informed the coaches that the game would be suspended for the night. Bremond fans were asked to leave the gym and go home. Then Chilton fans were asked to leave. There was some yelling and blows thrown in the Chilton parking lot, but more deputies arrived to disperse the crowd. The game will be played at 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning with only the teams, coaches and administrators allowed in the gym. Again, no Bremond fans were involved,nor were team members of either team.

I was there and it was crazy i saw from the mouthing to the fighting it was wild...but the thing is it wasnt chilton n bremod it was chilton n marlin ex grown atudents..
