Alabama Public Television executive Polly Anderson will become president and CEO of the Brazos Valley Public Broadcasting Foundation effective July 1, the foundation announced Tuesday.
As CEO, she will assume responsibility for day-to-day management of Waco PBS affiliates KWBU-TV and KWBU-FM.
Anderson is now vice president of development and marketing at Alabama Public Television where she has generated $2.5 million in annual revenue through memberships, underwriting nad major giving.
“Polly was the unanimous choice of the search committee, which was impressed with her track record in fund-raising, public broadcasting management, and community involvement” said Larry D. Brumley, chairman of Brazos Valley Public Broadcasting Foundation.
“She brings to this key leadership position the skills and experience that KWBU needs to strengthen its service to the community.”
Before joining Alabama Public TV in 2003, Anderson worked for seven years as director of corporate support for the University of Florida’s WUFT-TV/FM stations.
She’s a native of the Tampa Bay area and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of South Florida.
“KWBU TV & FM have built a strong foundation of service to the Central Texas community,” Anderson said.
“I look forward to building on that foundation as I join the stations and their partners to continue providing quality public broadcasting,” she said.
