Overturned Trailer Leads To Major Traffic Backups In San Antonio
Portions of Interstate 35 and Interstate 410 reopened late Friday afternoon in San Antonio after a trailer carrying explosive charges overturned on the highway.

About 2,000 people were evacuated Friday from the area where a truck carrying explosive charges overturned in San Antonio.
Portions of Interstate 35 and Interstate 410 were closed until late Friday afternoon because of the accident.
The 18-wheeler was northbound on Interstate 35 near the Interstate 410 interchange when it toppled.
The driver was not hurt, but a passenger was taken to Northeast Baptist Hospital nearby for examination.
Interstate 410 eastbound was closed approaching the interchange and state highway officials say a portion of Interstate 35 in northeastern San Antonio was also shut down because of the accident.
The highways were reopened late in the afternoon.
Homes and businesses within a half-mile radius including an elderly-care center were evacuated after the crash.
Red Cross shelters were set up at two nearby schools.
Officials determined that earlier suspicions that the truck contained explosive ammonium nitrate were unfounded.
The charges are used to detonate other explosives.
