(April 14, 2008) -- Belton High School welcomed in a group of new students on Monday.
Twenty-six all the way from Alencon, France joined the Belton High School student body; well at least for a week.
Alencon is located about three hours from Paris in Normandy, France.
During their stay the exchange students will learn what it's like to be a Texas teenager.
The group will travel to San Antonio and Austin to learn some of the states history.
After staying a week in Belton the students will head to Dallas for a week at Newman-Smith High School before heading home.
“These students have a rare opportunity not only to home stay a student for a week in their own home here in Texas but also to go to France and stay in the homes of the student that they have hosted,” said Cindy Long who is the Belton High School French teacher.
In early June 16 students from Belton High School will spend a week in France with the students they hosted.
