(May 13, 2008)--Sensing equipment has been installed to monitor whether a sprawling sinkhole in Texas is growing.

It's been nearly one week since the gap opened near Daisetta, about 60 miles northeast of Houston.

No injuries were reported.

The sinkhole has grown to 900 feet in width and 250 feet in depth.

The U.S. Geological Survey is working to monitor the hole.

Concerns have been raised that any heavy rain could further destabilize the area.

Nearby Farm-to-Market Road 770 remains closed.
