(May 14, 2008)—Power outages and damage from early-morning storms forced some Central Texas school districts either to delay the start of classes or to close schools for the day Wednesday.

Classes started late Wednesday in Academy, Moody, Rogers, Rosebud-Lott and Temple.

In Salado, which took a direct hit from Wednesday morning’s storms, schools were closed for the day.

Officials are reporting serious storm damage to the gym at Salado High School.
