The 18-wheeler had to be towed from the scene.

Cox's body was sent to Dallas for an autopsy.

Was he drunk? What kind of comment is that?? My prayers go to both Mr. Cox's family and the driver.

I grew up right down the road from that mile marker. Yes there is a bridge right there and a gas station too. I don't know why he would cross the interstate instead of using the bridge but it doesn't matter. This is a very tragic story for him and the driver of the truck. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and the driver of the truck.

I know the driver and he is a good man. This is killing him as well. Trucks don't stop on a dime and he didn't see the man. Who expects someone to be on the Interstate, let alone at 12:30 at night? My prayers go out to everyone involved.

I feel very bad for Mr Cox and his family. I also feel very bad for the driver of the truck. I can not begin to imagine how bad he must feel. On top of that the news did not say accidentaly hit while Mr Cox illeagly crossed the hwy as alway immeadiatly laying the blame on the driver. There is a reason it is against the law to cross the hwy like that. My husband passed though there right after the accident and said there is a bridge about 100 ft from there. The big trucks can not just stop in an instant. We need to learn from this!! Our prayers and symathy to the Cox family......... and the driver.

As this story is very horrific and tragic, what was this man honestly thinking crossing the interstate?!! My thoughts and prayers and deepest sympathy go out to Mr. Cox's family during this time of grieving. But you have to wonder what was he honestly thinking trying to cross the interstate at 12:30am!

Dennis, was my grand son inlaw, Lana Cox's husband. He worked at the waco V A Hospital; and was on his way home from work when the accident happened.
