(June 19, 2008)—A power outage left thousands of residents of Bosque County in the dark Thursday morning and temporarily shut down emergency dispatch systems.

The storms that rumbled through the region Thursday morning were evidently responsible for the outage, which affected about 2,000 customers in the Clifton area and 1,800 customers in the Meridian area, Texas-New Mexico Power Company said.

The company said service was restored just after 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

Texas-New Mexico Power Company provides service to more than 216,000 customers and 76 communities in Texas.
