The U.S. Department of Agriculture will make low interest drought disaster loans available to farmers in nine Central Texas counties.
The USDA has designated McLennan, Hill, Bosque, Limestone, Robertson, Bell, Coryell, Milam and Falls Counties as disaster areas because of the dry conditions.
“When a community is hit hard by drought, the federal government should play a role in lending a helping hand to those farmers who need it,” Edwards said.
