(July 3, 2008)—Marlin-area firefighters battled a grassfire Thursday afternoon on Business Highway 6 in the Marlin industrial park.
The fire was reported around 2:15 p.m. and was under control within about an hour, firefighters said.
The fire scorched about a half-dozen acres, but did not threaten any structures.
The fire broke out on the same day as Falls County’s judge signed a disaster declaration, instituting a ban on outdoor burning for at least the next seven days.
