Central Texas Youth Dead After 4-Wheeler Crash Save Email Print

A | A | A

(July 5, 2008) – A 16-year-old Gatesville youth was killed instantly when his 4-wheeler left a rural Coryell County roadway and struck a tree.

Gatesville Fire Chief Billy Vaden told News 10 Dustin L. Weber had been riding his 4-wheeer back and forth along Greenbriar Road and as he climbed a hill near the crossing of Coryell Creek, the youth lost control of the vehicle, left the paved roadway and struck a large tree.

Vaden said Weber was thrown from the 4-wheeler as the crash happened.

It is not known of the youth was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Emergency responders from the fire department and Coryell Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Medical Service were dispatched to the 3800 block of Greenbriar at about 3:40 p.m.

Vaden was first on the scene and he immediately requested a justice of the peace be sent to the crash to make a pronouncement of death.

Coryell County Justice of the Peace Larry McDonald told News 10 he pronounced Weber dead at the scene at 4:08 pm. McDonald did not order an autopsy.

The accident scene is about 4-1/2 miles east of Gatesville.

Funeral arrangements for Weber are pending.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of Dustins Family and Friends. It is hard to believe that our small town has lost yet another yound kid! I looked at the picture i had of me him hailey and taylor in spanish class goofing off...and it was weird to imagine...he had changed so much and to have his life taken from him that soon is a sad thing. Anyways my hope is that we can all pull together once again and be strong, and keep our head held high and remember that Dustin is in a better place and no longer has to deal with the wordly pains...RIP Webber & God Bless Family & Friends!
